Happiness may not be a situation, but rather an ability.
Thinking is like traversing a tree, and writing transforms our thoughts into a linear form. This relationship is truly interesting! Every writer selects different nodes and develops their ideas into essays.

I tried to share more about my writing, projects, and work with people over the past two years. Initially, I was afraid of criticism, but I found that they offered me a lot of suggestions instead.(Specific suggestions are useful!)
I miss on-site activities where I can observe participants’ movements, eye contact, and their attire. This is truly important for connecting with each other. Online activities make it hard to accomplish this.
Accumulate

It’s easy to see the outcome and neglect the process. But all the effort can accumulate the outcome.
This “article” gave me a new perspective on AI art tools like DALL-E and Midjourney. They are like a new kind of camera. While traditional cameras turn light into pictures, these new kinds of cameras turn ideas into pictures.
Customer service isn’t just a department; it requires everyone’s attention. Different people can see different aspects. A product person may generate new ideas, while an operations person may identify process flaws. Providing customer service is easy, but doing it well is not.
Conversation

It’s intriguing to distinguish three types of conversation: practical, emotional, and social. Practical conversations aim to solve problems. Emotional conversations aim to share feelings. Social conversations are about how we relate to each other.
“False expectations create fear and then fear creates the bad thinking.” This is so true. You need to figure out where you are and set appropriate expectations.

I really love the lyrics of this song. It mentions people consuming their happiness to pretend they are better than others.

Subtraction

Understanding ourselves is very difficult. It’s more like subtraction than addition. We need to get rid of unimportant things and find truly valuable ones.
Self-media

Today, I read an article that mentioned how “Self-media” is ironic. We can easily post content on social media platforms, but content related to ourselves becomes less visible (possibly due to algorithms). I think this is why I appreciate genuine creators.
I’ve recently discovered that my motivation for writing stems from a desire to share valuable insights. There aren’t always friends available to listen to me, so sharing through writing fulfills me.
This article reminds me of one my favorite quotes in 2023: “Bad companies are destroyed by a crisis. Good companies survive a crisis. But great companies, they’re defined by the crisis.” The way we overcome the crisis can prove who we are.

Arc offers a fresh opportunity for scientists. They no longer have to run a lab and seek external grants at a conventional university. At Arc, scientists can freely explore their curiosity-driven research. That’s really cool.

Detachment allows minds to reset, fostering greater creativity.

“You don’t know how lucky you are being a monkey. Because consciousness is a terrible curse. I think, I feel, I suffer.” I really love this transcript from “Being John Malkovich” This movie explores themes of gender, desire, and societal expectations.

I’ve been happy to receive the developed film rolls, even though most of the photos didn’t turned out as expected. The limitations in shooting with film compel me to carefully consider how to capture each moment . This process of contemplation makes them more precious.
Vulnerability

Garry Tan pointed out that two elements of effective writing are vulnerability and novelty. Vulnerability not only means you share the authentic content, and also those things that scares you.

After finishing “The Almanack of Naval Ravikant,” I’m impressed by the concept of not judging everything at first glance. We don’t always need to categorize things as good or bad. Sometimes, it’s enough to simply face the facts and accept them.

“Embracing Pain” is about achieving a goal and then seeking to adapt to it, while “Embracing Ease” is about going further within the comfort zone, feeling joyful while becoming stronger. I want to remind myself to approach things with the mindset of embracing ease
